There are two things that make a good sleep, great.

Before I get in to these two things, I know there is more than two things, but these two are the MOST important.

  1. The right pillow – This is easily #1. If the pillow is too thick or thin, you’re going to wake up with a sore neck. If it’s too hard or soft, the same thing. Finding the right pillow can take forever. One time I went through five pillows before I found the right one. Now the other four are reserved for company. If I’m going away and driving to a destination, I bring my pillow with me. Except this past weekend when I went away and forgot it and my weekend was ruined. This was the inspiration for the blog. I only sleep with one pillow under my head, but I’m a big fan of spooning one while I sleep or tossing one between my knees. No decorative pillows allowed though!

2. The Top Sheet – This is a close second. Too many people poo poo the top sheet and it needs to stop. When it’s hot out, its your best friend. Sleeping with nothing covering you feels strange, so the top sheet is the perfect light safety blanket, with out the thickness of staying warm. The same can be said about keeping you a little warmer in the winter, especially if you use a flannel one. Toss one foot/leg out of it, and you’ll stay extra cool. Just don’t hang it off the bed! Top sheet for life!
